Collection concept
Acherontia Atropos became the collection heroine. Intended by Nature to become the queen of moths, the majestic black-winged moth fell victim to illusions. The yellow pattern on its back reminded people of a human skull and the lofty creature was branded «Acheron», after a river in the Underworld, that according to Dante, flows around the first Circle of Hell. Yet a creature with such a long way of coming to be cannot remain static. The moth undergoes changes all through its life, and the threatening pattern, which is caused by bright spots on folded wings, transforms into a totally different pattern as the moth starts to fly. This is also how the Homo Consommatus clothes are: the change of light causes the black cocoon skirts drastically transform the figure; the next moment, it plays with sine-shaped patterns, exposing the creator`s scheme. Velvet inserts fit the waist closely, tightly envelop the elbows, and emphasize the natural form, creating an ergonomic strict line of the body. Every piece of the Acherontia Atropos collection is designed to comply with the symmetry and discipline of the moths. Smooth mirror-like joining of neck and shoulder supports of the garment, sleeve length, and pocket arrangement are all evolutionally justified. Black leather with chitin gleam is cut out to create an illusion of a collar or imitate a bellyband. The balance of upper and lower parts, tank coats, and trapezoidal skirts is made to observe smooth and high soaring.
